Would You Try Zero-Alcohol Bourbon?

Let’s talk bourbon! How do you take yours? Up, neat, or on the rocks? How about zero alcohol?

I’m not participating in Dry January, but I have been curious about zero-alcohol liquors for a while. And while I don’t think a zero-alcohol bourbon would ever impress a bourbon snob, I do see its potential for occasions when folks don’t want to drink or want a low-calorie drink option.

I decided to try Spiritless: Kentucky 74, which claims to have the “oak, smoke, caramel, and vanilla” flavors of bourbon.

On its own? It is … fine. But it DOES NOT taste exactly like bourbon, and would certainly not fool a bourbon connoisseur. I think it would taste great in a cocktail with mixers, or combining half zero-alcohol and half bourbon in a sipping drink (for half the alcohol and half the calories).

Would you guys try something like this? Such an awesome idea for Dry January, athletes, or just people watching their alcohol consumption in general. Paired with some vermouth and bitters, it would make a great gift.
