What’s On The Calendar: January 2024

Say hello to the new year with these events to do with your family and friends!

Here are the events on our calendar in Louisville in January

FRIDAY JANUARY 5TH

Jackson and the Janks at the Whirling Tiger

I love the Whirling Tiger, either to see a show or just to grab a drink. Jackson and the Janks hail from New Orleans. Show starts at 8 pm.

THURSDAY JANUARY 11TH

Harlem Globetrotter’s World Tour

I’ve never been, but I think seeing them would be so much fun! 7 pm at the YUM! Center.

SUNDAY JANUARY 14TH

River City Drum Corp – Keepers of the Dream

We went to see the River City Drum Corp last year and all the students were so talented! Psst they also have merch and their t-shirts are very cool. Show starts at 5 pm.

TUESDAY JANUARY 16TH

Hi-Wire Puzzle Challenge

Hi-Wire hosts a puzzle challenge night on the 3rd and 4th Tuesday of every month. I went once last fall, and it was so much fun! Although I do have to admit some teams were highly competitive. Sign up from 6-7 pm, and the puzzle challenge starts at 7 pm.

FRIDAY JANUARY 19TH

Dolly Disco and Drag

This event at Headliners Music Hall is to “celebrate the birthday of our unofficial queen Dolly Parton”. Show starts at 8 pm.

MULTIPLE DATES

Pretty Decent Moss Art Class

If you haven’t stopped by for a cocktail at Pretty Decent yet, you are missing out. This plant shop/ cocktail bar combo is so pretty and is the perfect place to grab a drink with a friend. I’ve been wanting to attend one of their moss art classes, since I think the finished projects look so cute and I wouldn’t have to worry about keeping a plant alive.

JANUARY 24TH – FEBRUARY 4TH

Frozen

It’s been forever since I’ve seen the movie version of Frozen. And since Frozen allegedly takes place in Norway, our friend group with Broadway series tickets is doing a Norwegian-themed brunch before we go, with lefse and cardamom cookies.

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 31ST

Candy Making Class with Muth’s

Muth’s Candies on Market St. is a go-to when I’m shopping for small gifts. Their Modjeskas (marshmallows dipped in caramel) are my favorite. In this class, participants will make Peanut Butter Fudge, White Chocolate Peppermint Bark, and Bourbon Pecan Creams. The event takes place at Cooking at Millie’s from 6:30-8:30 pm. Update: this event has sadly sold out!
